Seriously Impressive Fullmetal Alchemist Automail, And CNN's Day with a Cosplayer
posted on by Bamboo Dong
There are a lot of talented cosplayers and prop-makers in the world, and every now and then, we like to showcase some of the ones that pop up on our radar.
The Japanese Twitter community has been pretty excited by the recent efforts of @DarkKnightArmer, a cosplayer who specializes in armor and has made some pretty insane stuff over the years. This time, the talented crafter set to work on Edward Elric's automail from Fullmetal Alchemist. Using PH9 polyurethane and stretchable Larissa enamel fabric, the finished result almost looks exactly like the real thing, minus a few lightning bolts.

明日はそれ以外のパーツを製作します
ラリッサは10年雨ざらしにしても劣化しない頑丈な素材なので末永く使ってもらえるはず pic.twitter.com/XqUgzqJW3D

There have been plenty of incredible Edward Elric cosplays stateside as well; check out this listing of Ed Elric cosplayers on AC Paradise.
If you're curious what it's like being a professional cosplayer, CNN Money recently ran a segment in their "24 Hours With" feature on cosplayer Lindy Le. It chronicles one of her days at New York Comic Con.
