Fan-Made Gundam CG Film Shows Early RX-78 Development
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Italian creator Antonio Vallorani's CG Gundam fan-film looks at the beginnings of the franchise and more or less slides into canon perfectly. His take on the original series from the 1970s is definitely awe-inspiring for fan-film makers. The "Mobile Suit Gundam RX-78 Prototype 01 -Side Story- First Part" film recounts the development of the RX-78, Amuro Ray's future mobile unit.
Vallorani is working on the the second installment and already has a few character designs up on the project's Facebook page.
Fan creators have had various level of success adapting their favorite properties. Paul "OtaKing" Johnson was working on a 20-minute Street Fighter animated fan film last year. Time Window Studio launched a campaign in 2016 to raise US$10,000 to produce Embers, a fan film based on SNK's fighting game franchise Fatal Fury. That project met its goal, but has not updated in over a year.
