Hunter x Hunter Manga Goes on 2-Week Hiatus Due to Back Pain
posted on by Egan Loo
This year's 39th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that artist Yoshihiro Togashi is putting his Hunter x Hunter manga on a two-week hiatus, due to serious lower back pain. The manga is not running in the 39th issue nor the 40th issue, as Togashi undergoes treatment. However, he aims to return in the 41st issue, which will ship on September 8.
The manga went on a brief hiatus in July, and Togashi resumed his manga in June after a hiatus of more than two years.
Shueisha shipped the 32nd compiled volume in Japan in December 2012, and Viz Media released the same volume in North America in April. The manga inspired two television anime series; the latest one has been running since 2011, but it will end with episode 148 on September 23. The manga also inspired two anime films and several original video anime titles.
