posted on by Rai Kelly
Sega revealed on Tuesday that the third playable character for its upcoming Sonic Forces game will be a custom Hero Character. Sega also began streaming a trailer, showcasing an example of a Hero Character racing, collecting rings, and fighting enemies. It previews the kind of customization players can use on characters.
The custom hero is one of three playable characters, along with Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic. Players can customize the character's facial features, fur color, outfits, accessories, and equipment. The characters have their own unique abilities and come in different classes, including Wolf, Rabbit, Cat, Dog, Bear, Bird, and Hedgehog.
Sonic Forces slated for release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC during the 2017 holiday season.
In addition, Sonic Mania will launch this summer for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Sega is developing Sonic Mania with Christian Whitehead, Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games. The "2D platforming high speed adventure" game will feature new zones and remixed classic levels, and players can play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles.
