Monogatari Series Illustrator VOFAN to Attend Anime NYC
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Kodansha Comics and Vertical announced at their panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego on Saturday that Vertical, EVA Air, and Anime NYC will host illustrator VOFAN at the Anime NYC event. VOFAN will host panels, workshops, and autograph sessions at the event. Additionally, Vertical will feature a gallery of VOFAN's work at the event.
The Taiwanese illustrator has drawn over 30 book covers, including NisiOisin's Monogatari series and Okitegami Kyōko no Bibōroku novels. His illustrations have served as the original character designs for Monogatari series anime adaptations. VOFAN has also illustrated magazine covers and the original character designs for the Toki to Towa game.
Vertical will release VOFAN's Colorful Dreams artbook in October. The release will include a new cover and photographs.
This year's Anime NYC will be held at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan from November 15 to 17. Last year's event had 36,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 15 countries.
